D.D.G. Cycles of Nottingham has acquired the brand name of Onza for the European market. It will be distributed to the trade via Kennedys Direct Supplies and will be sold consumer-direct by Super Cycles of Nottingah

Onza bounces back

Mike Poyzer of D.D.G. and Super Cycles says this is not a distribution deal or licensing arrangement, but a total acquisition of the Onza name and logo for use in Europe. He has total intellectual control of the mark in the European market with protection back to 1993.

This will be vigorously defended, says Poyzer and he warns against any unauthorised grey importation of Onza products.

We are aware that old surplus stock is still floating around in the Far East and I urge caution if anybody is considering any such imports.

Poyzer wants to make Onza a force to be reckoned with again.

This long established and well-respected trademark has languished a little over the last couple of years but under the new ownership it is set to become a major force once again. A commitment has been made to re- establish the brand in existing and new areas and work is already under way to this end. The planned new products will complement Onzas profile in the quality end of the industry and will be particularly aimed at the trials market, identified as a fast growing sector.

A new range of Onza complete cycles will be in the shops before Christmas, says Poyzer.

Several European distributors are already in place, but certain countries are still up for grabs in both Onza and D.D.G, says Poyzer.

Distribution in the UK will be via mail order and online sales from Super Cycles of Nottingham and through selected retailers from wholesaler Kennedys Direct Supplies also of Nottingham.
