Production of G-Sport hubs and wheels will move to Taiwan. G-Sport - run by product designer George French - has been working with Odyssey for 18 months on French's Elementary Stem. A deal for G-Sport to become part of the "Odyssey family" was agreed late last year with the announcement of the new relationship taking place last Wednesday.

Odyssey BMX of US acquires G-Sport of Sheffield

"By becoming part of the Odyssey family G-Sport products should become much more easily available and a little cheaper. Especially to people in exotic foreign lands," said French.

"Because Odyssey will be covering all the stuff I am so bad at like management, ordering, packaging and soon the website too, I will be able to spend a lot more of my time on new product design and development."

French remains based in the UK and will work on product design and development for both G-Sport and Odyssey, with the focus at G-Sport remaining on hubs and wheels.

A statement from Odyssey said existing G-Sport component production will move to Taiwan, "but will retain the strict quality control that has always been the hallmark of the brand."

G-Sport products will be available from Odyssey in Spring 2005.
