Praxis forged rings
Upgrade: 01403 711 611

Fresh off the back of announcing the distribution deal, Upgrade wanted to get talking about how Praxis rings can benefit the performance cyclist.
There’s four types of ring on offer – road, mountain, cross and singlespeed – each offering ‘good value, especially when compared to the only other forged-capable brand on the market, Shimano,’ says Upgrade.
Forging the rings greatly improves the accuracy of each shift and as such, the longevity of each cog’s life, as well as that of the chain. Upgrade says that with the dawn of an electronic transmission era, such things are increasingly important to many buying into top end drivetrain kit.
There are a wide range of cog ratios on offer and as an incentive to dealers, Orange coloured sets are offered at cost price for demo use with customers.

Designed from scratch, alongside athletes, Bike Food is a new-to-market energy gel using all natural ingredients – and claiming to offer more energy per gram than any other on the market.
The producer is quick to flag up that its product contains no added water, something which Bike Food believes is used widely by competitors to ‘essentially create a concentrated energy drink’. Bike Food is made entirely from quality carbs, with the key ingredient being honey.
Made in the UK, Bike Food’s product is free from sweeteners, preservatives or sodium benzoate, as well as being free from wheat, dairy and gluten.
Paralympian Simon Richardson, MBE is a fan of the product, having helped the brand develop the formula.

Biologic PostPump 2.0
Paligap: 01454 313116

Already the recipient of a Red Dot product design award, Biologic’s take on the integrated post pump has ‘three important advantages’ compared to standard hand pumps.
Philip Robinson, inventor of the PostPump concept said: “First, it has a much higher stroke capacity, so it takes a lot fewer pumps to get your tyre inflated. Anyone who’s arm has cramped and has had to take a break while pumping can appreciate this. Second it works exactly like a floor pump; you stand and push down to pump. And finally, because the pump is hidden inside your seatpost, it’s always ready when you need it.”
The ergonomic design has a flip-out foot stand and makes use of the saddle as a handle so the user can comfortably stand while pumping. The patented 2.0 design is thoroughly reworked with precision-machined aluminum fittings to increase maximum pressure and stroke volume. In addition, a flip-to-fit adapter makes switching between Presta and Schrader valves extremely convenient.

CO2 inflators
NRG4: 0780 240 4219

The main function of the co2 pump is quickly and easily to inflate, with Unich’s take on the convenient inflation device activated by the push of a button on the rear, easily accessed once attached to the valve.
The user need simply put a 16g cartridge into the pot and be aware of the cartridge position and fasten the pot and injector. Then press the button for speedy pumping and adjust the volume. The co2 inflators have recently won a Red Dot design award for the Taipei D&I award for innovation.
The label also produces micro pumps, as well as large barrel, gauge equipped track pumps, ideal for the workshop, yet designed to appeal to the consumer with a taste for stylish accessories.
