New Mio cycle products to navigate the UK market

Mio is a new brand moving into the UK’s cycle navigation market.

From a car satnav heritage (Mio is the sister brand to Navman), Mio is launching the Mio Cyclo 300 and the Mio Cyclo 305, providing navigation and additional features for cyclists.

The Mio Cyclo 300 with Regional Maps retails at £259.99, while the Mio Cycle 305 HC with Regional Maps hits the £309.99 price point. A version of the 305 HC with Western-Europe Maps retails at £349.99.

Uniquely, the Mio cycle range include a ‘Surprise Me’ feature, where the Mio Cycle puts a random route based on entered time or distance regardless of current location. The products have Open Street Map and TeleAtlas maps preinstalled with cycle points of interest (including bike shops, emergency locations, food and drink, plus more).

The Mio Cyclo 305 has sharing options too – it measures time, speed, distance, height, calorie consumption and more and that data can be shared with others once downloaded via Mio Share Desktop software, also keeping track of route history and training schedules. Noth units sport an anti-glare three-inch touchscreen, with robust and waterproof casing.

“The launch of the Mio Cyclo range arrives at an exciting time for cyclists in Britain," explained Iwan van Hende, outdoor and fitness product director for Mio. "With cities and the countryside becoming ever more bicycle friendly, we’re delighted to be launching a product that helps both recreational and sportive riders take advantage of the growing cycling opportunity in the UK.

Mio has also announced a UK partnership with the British Heart Foundation, with Mio committing to give at least £30,000 to the BHF.

The UK cycling distributor for Mio is Paligap – www.paligap.cc; 01454 313116.
