Bicycles By Design has launched new handmade British bike brand called Ironbridge Bicycles.
The new models take inspiration from the iconic Shropshire world heritage site and birthplace of the industrial revolution, Ironbridge. The bikes were designed to echo the traditions of the area and utilise the skills, materials and aesthetics of modern British design and manufacturing.
Aesthetically, the Ironbridge features a high-gloss blue colourway with union jack emblems and various tributes to Ironbridge itself, including a small metalwork design on the rear triangle shaped like the original structure – shown in the picture above.
Robert Wade from Bicycles By Design commented: "It’s so amazing to be launching new brand Ironbridge and in the process drawing on our heritage and skills. The bike is aimed at the customer wanting a traditional but contemporary high quality hand-made British frame without the expense, involvement and waiting time of a bespoke frame.
"It is an exciting collaboration between ourselves and other small frame builders and industry partners to evolve a model of working to sustain our businesses post bike boom and post-Brexit to access customers in the UK and export markets."
The bikes will be available in the coming months from Bicycles By Design. For more information on the brand, click here.
