In October David Moakes becomes Falcon's global sourcing manager, a newly created post. His job is to source cheap, fully-built bikes for the UK market, allowing the Brigg factory to concentrate on higher-end bikes.

Moakes moves from Reece to Falcon

Moakes has been working as operations director at Reece Cycles plc since 1996. He formerly worked for Raleigh.

He will move from Reece to Falcon, reporting to the MD, Steven Bell, in early October.

Bell said: “David’s new role is a very important one for Falcon Cycles, it should allow us to offer all of our customers a wider and more complete range of products.

"The dramatically lower retail prices at the budget end of the cycle market has meant that to remain competitive, these low-priced products in our range must be fully sourced from lower cost producers overseas. Sourcing this range will then enable us to both increase the output of higher-end, quality products from our Brigg factory for Claud Butler, Dawes, Falcon and Shogun brands and additionally be able to increase the volume of our budget products by offering our customers better prices."
