UK-made new brand produces all-weather bags and accessories that won't look out of place off the bike

Michaux Club launches cycle-ready handbags

Launched this year, Michaux Club’s range is pitched as a line of all-weather reflective bicycle bags and accessories for the city commuter.

Michaux Club was founded by Rachel Bonney, who made a handbag that she could wear comfortably while riding, leading her to create a line of bicycle bags and accessories that are waterproof, subtly reflective and don’t look out of place in work meetings or while socialising.

Bonney told BikeBiz: "All products are handmade in London and feature water-resistant canvas, shower-proof leather, 3M reflective material and an anti-swing strap to keep the bag secure to your body while riding your bike.

"The collection is largely aimed at the professional woman looking for a smart, stylish handbag for work which is practical and safe to cycle with. It launched this year and has been well received so far by customers and has accumulated press in the Guardian Online, Huffington Post, Cycling Plus and Elle Singapore to name a few."

As well as bags, the brand also has a puncture repair kit and leather/reflective handlebar tape on offer.

So far the brand has three stockists in London: Islington’s The Bicycle Man, Push Cycles in Newington Green and Foffa Bikes of Aldgate. This Saturday (December 1st) the brand will also be at the Vulpine Cycling Fete at the Balham Bowls Club.

The brand name is inspired by the 1895 New York-based Michaux Club where the fashion elite cycled and socialised together.
