British endurance accessories manufacturer SealSkinz today announced that it has set up a new company in Germany to service its Central European markets.
Marc Wachter has been appointed as managing director. Prior to his appointment at SealSkinz, Wachter worked for Marmot for almost 11 years. He brings extensive experience to the business: in his previous position as vice president of sales and marketing, he was responsible for 21 countries.
The company is aiming for an improved position in specialist trade accounts. Wachter will be assuming responsibility for the German, Austrian, Swiss, Italian, Polish, Czech, Slovakian and Slovenian markets.
"As a result of this new company and Marc’s appointment, SealSkinz can deliver a more efficient sales structure in Central Europe, thus serving its clients even better than before,“ said Alistair Tait, managing director of SealSkinz. “We’re very excited to have Marc on board for this next step. He’s very experienced in developing new markets and expanding existing ones."
“I am very much looking forward to this new challenge,“ says Wachter. “SealSkinz has a unique product portfolio which is directed at outdoor enthusiasts, cyclists, runners, and also water sports and horse riding fans. Thanks to the uniqueness of SealSkinz’ products, I can see a lot of potential for the future."
