The friction-lite cables - as used by Lance Armstrong and other road and MTB pros – will be available from both Gore and Madison

Madison to distribute Gore RideOn Cables

The bike cable brand of W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. has been picked up by Madison.

Gore Ride-On cables are available in road and MTB systems. The road system is semi-enclosed; the MTB system is fully enclosed. Gore’s semi-sealed cable system incorporates ferrules with ultra-long protective noses, ‘Grub seals’ and low-friction coating technology.

The cables were re-introduced into the United States and Europe in 2007. Madison stock will be shipped to UK dealers from Milton Keynes; IBDs buying direct from Gore will continue to get stock shipped from the Gore warehouse in Munich.

Lois Mabon, Global Product Manager of Gore RideOn, said:

“Gore RideOn Cable Systems are the lowest friction, most durable cable systems available.”

Gore started looking for a UK distributor in June, during the US PressCamp, attended by BikeBiz.

Richard Peploe, Brand Director at Madison, said: “We have long appreciated the quality of the Gore RideOn Cable Systems and look forward to offering them to our great network of dealers through our award-winning sales team. The systems will now be more easily available to independent retailers, with no minimum order quantities and swift delivery."

Retailers now have the choice to purchase cables directly from Gore or through Madison.
