Firm acquires 80,000 sq ft distribution and office site in Milton Keynes

Madison reveals multi-million pound purchase

Madison has completed the multi-million pound purchase of a further distribution and office facility in the Knowlhill area of Milton Keynes.

The ten-year old building, previously occupied by the Open University, covers 80,000 sq ft, with 12,000 sq ft of office space.

The site will be home for many of the office staff currently located at the existing Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes site, along with some brand management and marketing personnel relocating from Madison’s North London office.

The facility could potentially hold over 50,000 bikes at any one time. All clothing and footwear from Pearl Izumi, Shimano and Madison, with Giro and Bell helmets, will be stored in a separate ‘clean room’ in the facility.

Madison’s Bradwell Abbey site is to be gutted and converted into permanent showrooms for meetings and to better accommodate the ever increasing IceBike* event.

The new site is set to go live during November this year, coinciding with the new warehouse management system implementation. Bradwell Abbey’s refit is set to be complete in time for IceBike* next February.

“This is the successful conclusion of a lengthy property search that has seen many twists and turns along the way," commented Dominic Langan, CEO of Madison.

"Madison has ambitious plans and our recent significant investment in this new property and along with a new warehouse management system are all being made to ensure we have the infrastructure to deliver our goals and underwrite a successful future for the business.”
