Long standing relationship ceased with immediate effect

Madison and GoPro partnership ends

After a five year collaboration, Madison and GoPro’s partnership has ceased with immediate effect.

The Milton Keynes distributor has been pivotal in growing the label in the UK’s action sports markets, but with an increasing trend by the camera brand to shift units via consumer electronics mass retailers, Madison has said that does not tie in with its independent retailer focused approach.

Madison has other avenues that could be explored when it comes to action cameras, with both Shimano and Garmin producing units.

A press release reads:

Madison is a full service distributor, priding itself on unparalleled market knowledge, operational excellence and proven sales and marketing strategy creation and execution.

As the GoPro brand has evolved and grown internationally, the emphasis of the brand has moved more to consumer electronics mass retailers with the focus on large volume box shifting. Whilst this is something Madison can do, it is not our core offering and not the best use of our resources and skillset.

Madison has been active in the action camera market since 2006 and aims to remain active within this channel, but with a brand where the core specialists retailers are the focus and where Madison can add the most value as a distributor.

It has been an amazing experience helping to build the GoPro brand to such a phenomenal level but for Madison to stay true to our core values and what we do best, now is the time to move on.

With immediate effect, Madison will no longer, in any regard, act on the behalf of GoPro and nor are we authorized or in the position to do so.
