New UK firm features apparel handmade in Europe

Leicester-based Zelo Jersey launches

Based in Leicester, Zelo Jersey was founded this year, manufacturing and designing quality cycle clothing and specialising in cycling jerseys.

The firm’s clothing is all handmade in Europe using Swiss fabrics and, according to the founders, was launched to provide cyclists with a fresh brand aiming combining good looks with technical attributes and high quality fabrics required for modern day cycling.

The founders are fans of vintage jerseys, the designs of which they describe as ‘adventurous, exciting and never failed to stand out from the crowd’. The founders said they wanted to restore those philosophies through their products.

Zelo Jersey’s cycling jerseys come in a signature vintage/retro cut (round sleeves), eschewing Raglan sleeves.

The brand said: "Cycling jerseys have advanced greatly over the years. Gone have the days of wearing a heavy acrylic or wool jersey which absorbed water like a sponge. After a challenging sprint or an up hill marathon, you were left wearing a soggy sweat filled cycling jersey which made you feel ten times heavier whilst cold and chilly from the wind. The jerseys worn by today’s pros are made from high end synthetic fabrics such as polyester. Keeping up with modern standards our jerseys are made from a high quality Swiss Polyester which wicks sweat away from the skin."

The firm offers a custom solution manufacturing and designing cycling clothing for clubs, teams, events, shops, promotion and more.
