A new, media award has been added to this year's London Cycling Awards: websites, print and video are eligible for the London Cycling Campaign awards. As well as media initiatives the awards aim to highlight London's best ideas in cycling facilities, community cycling projects, and projects aimed at children and young people.

LCC seeks nominations for London’s 2005 Cycling Awards

The London Cycling Campaign is inviting nominations for its annual awards for people and projects that have done the most to benefit cycling in London.

The awards will be presented at LCC’s AGM on Wednesday 2nd November.

The categories are:

* Best Cycle Facility

* Best Community Cycling Initiative

* Best Cycling Initiative for Young People or Children

* Best Cycling Media Initiative

Nominations – to be received by Friday 7th October – might include community events to recruit new cyclists, cycle confidence training projects, cycle parking provision, new cycle routes or school cycling projects.

Last year’s winners included a childrens’ bike track in Southwark, a youth bike skills project in Tower Hamlets, an integrated cycling scheme in Ealing and an innovative parking scheme at Surbiton station.
