Job overview: As Workshop Manager, you are responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the daily business operations of the store. General tasks include supervising employees, communicating with, and helping customers and carrying out directives given by the Store Manager, or in their absence Area Manager. Responsibilities: Leading and managing the workshop team within store and providing support to the Store Manager. Managing daily repair workload and delegating to team of mechanics & bike builders ensuring high quality of work. Training and development of team Mechanics to company expectations. Workshop calendar management and monitoring lead times to ensure growth of customer base and workshop efficiency. Constant review on tooling needs and condition of existing tools. Ability to form quotes for repair within a customer’s budget. The ability to carry out all types of servicing at the most professional level. To work in conjunction with Store Manager on the Rota to ensure the right coverage of workshop staff across the working week. A high level of product knowledge, knowing supplier brands and use of B2B websites. Keep presentation of workshop to Balfe’s high standards and workshop team adhere to this. Knowledge of POS systems, to be able to contact customers to arrange bike collections, via email, SMS or phone. Maintain high Health & Safety standards and adhere to all Health & Safety policies. Follow all risk assessments and safe systems of work relevant to your role. Requirements: Cytech 2 & 3/equivalent qualifications is preferred Previous Workshop Manager experience is ideal Experience of a bicycle mechanic is essential Communication Skills/Organisation/Customer Service/Phone Manner Leadership skills The ability to lift and deal with bikes 25kg+ Balfe’s Perks: Split shift opportunities and incentives.
