Car brand/bike brand, what1s the difference any more?

Jeep at half the price

Protec are now the exclusive distributors of Jeep Chrysler bikes in the UK. The Cycle and Leisure show is the launchpad for the premium bike brand.

The range of 20 bikes have a suggested retail price of between £300 and £2500.

"The competition for the licence was stiff," said Mike Edmond, Protec1s product sales and marketing director. "We won because we manufacture bikes ourselves and second because we don1t have a brand that will conflict with theirs."

"It’s a premium brand which complements our range in as much as where we finish in the market it takes the price points and specification up further. Whilst we market our bikes to the lower to middle end of the market, Jeep target the top end."

The Jeep Chrysler brand was launched in the US last year at Atlanta’s Cycle Sport Show.

Edmond told BikeBiz: "We made contact with the licensing company then and we have been working on it since February last year."

Jeep bikes will be distributed through Jeep Chrysler dealerships and Protec are also looking for IBDs to take on the brand.
