Customer looking to lighten their fatty? Alchemist Engineering's ensō685 rim is now available in UK

Ison to stock world’s lightest fat bike rim

Ison Distribution has signed a distribution agreement with Kuroshiro, who in collaboration with Alchemist Engineering, has laid claim to producing the world’s lightest fat bike rim.

With wheels making up a good portion of fat bike weights, the Italian made ensō685 rim has an ‘effective’ weight of approx. 399g per rim. At 85mm wide, it’s tubeless ready without the need for taping and can be run at lower pressures than non tubeless equivilents.

The rim design shuns traditional box-section construction in favour of a weight saving open circle form, as often used by cars and motorcycles. A patent pending ‘rib’ design that connects high stress points and provides offset spoke holes is also utilised.
