Trade whisperers have been muttering that Interbike could be relocating back to Anaheim. Not so, says the VP of sales for the Venetian hotel, home to the Sands Expo & Convention Center, which stages Interbike.

Interbike to be staged in Las Vegas through until 2006

Eric Bello, vice president of sales for The Venetian, the gargantuan Las Vegas hotel not that much smaller than the real Venice, said The Venetian Congress and Sands Expo & Convention Center was able to offer a "one campus philosophy" that has the USP of "having large-scale, flexible convention and meeting space combined with catering and banquet services connected to thousands of upscale suites and attractions, all conveniently housed under one roof at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip."

He said: "Our recent signings of several large scale conventions and high caliber corporate meetings reaffirms Las Vegas’ prominence as one of the world’s preferred tradeshow and convention destinations."

With an expansion of 150,000 square feet of meeting space, The Venetian Congress Center and the adjacent The Sands Expo now total nearly 1.9 million square feet.

"Because of our one campus approach, we’ve signed long-term deals with VNU Expositions and Reed Exhibitions, two of the world’s leading show management organizations that represent some of the largest tradeshows in the industry," said Bello.

Interbike is owned and organised by VNU Expositions. VNU has booked Interbike at the Sands until 2006.
