The BA needs cash to carry on its important behind-the-scenes technical work and unsung support of such organisations as C-PAG, the cycling parliamentary lobbying group.
Its Harrogate International Cycle Convention made £54 000 profit, and 23 companies have already re-booked for 2002.
To combat the view that ICC was a Northern trade show, a BA press release claims 30 percent of all ICC visitors came from the South.
And the release confirms that, despite high-level arguments for an Autumn Harrogate show, the 2002 show will still be held on the weekend previewed in the official show catalogue.
“The dates have been carefully selected to avoid all Bank Holidays and to suit as much of the industry as possible,” said the BA’s release.
The 2002 ICC will be held Sunday May 26th through to Tuesday May 28th.
“2002 will be a bigger, better show with more exhibitors and more features and looks set to become the ‘one stop shop’ for the industry,” claims the BA.
The 2002 sales brochure will be out at the end of July when all unallocated space will be released on a first come first served basis to new exhibitors.
