And thanks to title sponsorship from Giant UK and the support of brands such as Trek, Specialized, Kona, Marin, Raleigh, and Scott, Patrick Adams' dream is a little closer to coming true. The Dirt Demo Day - D3, for short - is being run as an add-on, bike test day to the Saab Salomon 24-Hour Mountain Mayhem event set for Eastnor Castle in June.

I have a dream: a Roc d’Azur for the UK

D3 will be staged on Friday June 25th, the day before the 24-hour MTB race.

25 bicycle brands and 15 component suppliers have signed up for the demo day.

"Due to the success of the Interbike and Roc d’Azur test days it was felt that this was what the UK consumer, supplier and dealer needed, a huge shop window," said Giant’s sales and marketing director, Ian Beasant.

Future’s ‘What Mountain Bike’ is the media sponsor and will be promoting the event in the issues available before the event. Giant is producing posters for IBDs.

“When we agreed a sponsorship deal with SSMM we really wanted to get some extra mileage, hence the birth of the D3. To offer a consumer a 20 minute test on your bike can only be a good thing. We want everybody to be there, lets give the UK customer the ultimate choice," said Beasant.

Companies confirmed to date include Giant, Trek, Specialized, Gary Fisher, Cotic, GT, Klein, Kona, Litespeed, Marin, Merlin, Mongoose, Nicolai, On-One, Planet X, Raleigh, Scott, Titus, Tomac, Santa Cruz, and Saracen.
