Hot Wheels will break ground on its new warehouse extension on January 5th, three years ahead of schedule.  PLUS: Hot Wheel's annual dealer survey reveals that 65 percent of IBDs visit BikeBiz.com on a regular basis.

Hot Wheels grows faster than projected; extension to be added to new warehouse

The extenssion will increase space at the Poole warehouse by 50 percent.

"This will enable us to to improve stock availability for our dealer network," said Russell Merry, one of the three partners at Hot Wheels, a family-owned business.

"We are delighted to be in a position to be able to grow our warehousing and that we have the requirement to do so. With hindsight we should have built the whole building in the first place. We moved into this building on March 5th 2003 and expected to build this extension in two or three years, but growth of the business has overtaken our original plans.”

Hot Wheels has also made some new appointments with the newly created position of supply chain manager now being filled by Matt Farrow. There’s also a full-time product manager role for David Jones, and a new field sales position for Alex Whale.

“These new positions strengthen management of the company and are likely to lead to an improved product offering, and increase our ability to sell those products,” said partner Neil Merry.
