Junior guests at 12 of Haven's UK holiday parks will be able to learn to ride a bike, and take Bikeability training.

Haven Holidays introduce Bikeability training for kids

‘Bikeability’ – cycling proficiency for the 21st Century – provides youngsters with the skills and confidence to ride safely on the roads. 12 of Haven Holidays’s holiday parks and caravan sites will be offering Bikeability this year.

Children will be trained on the first level of Bikeability, the away-from-roads introduction to cycling. Haven has 35 holiday parks; Bikeability will be offered at 12 of them.

While Bikeability 1 is aimed at mainly primary school children, Haven Holidays will also offer training for children who can’t yet cycle. Children from two upwards can learn on ‘balance bikes’ before progressing to bikes with pedals.

Haven’s Bikeability trainers will use games and activities to will help children feel comfortable on two wheels.

Children gaining their Level 1 Bikeability certificate will be able to take this forward to the next stage after their holiday. Many schools offer Bikeability training.

Bikeability joins the other range of free activities at Haven holiday parks, all aimed at encouraging children to gain physical skills.

Prices for a three or four night Spring break at a Haven holiday park start at around £129 for a family of up to six people based on selected dates at a choice of parks.

Bikeability will be available at Presthaven Sands; Hafan y Mor; Craig Tara; Primrose Valley; Blue Dolphin; Thorpe Park; Combe Haven; Rockley Park; Church Farm; Devon Cliffs; Seashore and Perran Sands
