Electric bike firm ramps up presence in ‘important market’

Green Machines to pedal Powabyke into Ireland

Powabykes are being brought to Ireland by Green Machines through an exclusive distribution agreement.

Green Machines is reportedly the largest distributor of zero-emission electric vehicles in the country, bringing e-scooters, electric cars and e-bikes to consumers in Ireland.

The firm is also pursuing distribution options in Europe and further afield to grow internationally. Powabyke told BikeBiz that it has sold over 30,000 e-bikes through approximately 400 dealers.

“Green Machines is delighted to become the exclusive distributor for Powabyke in Ireland,” enthused Robert Nolan, MD of Green Machines. “We have always tried to bring the best electric vehicle technology to the Irish market and we believe that Powabyke’s reputation for quality and reliability, along with their ethos of constant innovation, makes them the best electric bike manufacturer in their class. We are proud to be able to include Powabyke in our range of world-class electric vehicles.”

Powabyke MD Nick Child said: “I am obviously delighted that Green Machines have chosen the new range of X-Bykes in Ireland.

“We have already shipped product and Robert and his team are busy building up a reputable dealer network. We are confident that they can properly look after the product with their comprehensive after-sales dealer support team.

“Ireland is an important market for us and we are looking forward to a healthy 2011 with Green Machines.”
