Goodbye, Bicycle Workshop!

Today is the closing-down day for Bicycle Workshop, one of London’s long-lived and iconic cycle maintainance stores. Owner Ninon Asuni said it’s "the end of an epoch" and invited customers to visit and "laugh and cry with us."

The store is on All Saints Road, near Portobello Market and Notting Hill. With the lease coming an end and rent rising Asuni decided to call it a day. This is a "big problem in London for smaller businesses," she said.

On the store’s website she wrote: "I will be taking semi-retirement working in various places part-time and also repairing hub gears and dynamo light systems in my own workshop."

Asuni added: "Thank you to all our customers for the very many years of support."
