Giro's latest helmet – for the road, track, tri and cross markets – will be available in Spring 2013

Giro launches Air Attack helmet

Giro has released details for its new aerodynamic Air Attack helmet, aimed at the road, track, tri and cross markets, and available spring 2013.

The brand said the Air Attack draws on Giro’s hertitage and creates 12 per cent less drag than the Aeon, with 28 per cent better ventilation than the Selector, thanks to the new Roc Loc Air fit system.

Giro said: "The Air Attack also breaks the status quo of road helmet design, introducing a new style to the peloton, and once again reaffirming Giro’s position as the leader in design. The Air Attack opens a new era in performance and style, providing every racer with the advantage of free speed."

Alongside that low drag, the Air Attack is equipped with a magnetically attached shield for aerodynamics and eye protection – it ships with the grey/silver Flash eye shield, with a clear/silver flash aerodynamic eye shield available as an aftermarket accessory. The eye shield also attaches to helmet upside down for warm-up or quick transitions.

Six vents and deep internal channeling keep the rider ventilated and the helmet uses a new custom ultra-light buckle and new slimline webbing retainer. More details are on Giro’s official site.

Giro is distributed to the UK cycle trade by Madison.
