Garmin increases function for e-bike users

Garmin has announced updates to the Specialized Turbo Levo data field, a popular data field for e-bike riders available in the Connect IQ store.

The Specialized Turbo Levo data field not only allows cyclists to control their Turbo Levo e-bike from a compatible Edge cycling computer, users will also be able to view that same information available to them directly on their wrist with a compatible Garmin device

“Specialized launched the Turbo Levo data field for Edge cycling computers in March of 2016 and it has been downloaded by thousands of users since then,” said Garmin vice president of worldwide sales Dan Bartel. “Our cycling customers have consistently requested to have the same data fields they can get on their Edge available from their wearable as well, so we took that valuable feedback and are happy to announce these latest updates.”

With the updated data field, cyclists can view their power output setting on their e-bike directly from the Garmin wearable on their wrist. Users can also view their battery level from their wrist, with the number turning red when the remaining capacity is below 30 per cent. The assist level – turbo, trail and eco modes – will be saved in the activity file, making it easily viewable on Garmin Connect.

Connect IQ is available on a wide range of Garmin products across all of the markets the company serves and each app, widget, watch face and data field can be downloaded free of charge. The Connect IQ Store can be found at apps.garmin.com.
