Future’s consumer cycling website BikeRadar.com has reached over one million unique users, according to the latest figures from the firm.
1,093,668 unique users visited the site in April 2009, with figures further boosted in the month by being the first to cover a Shimano product launch, with the story hitting over 20,000 views alone. The firm said that video content has also played a big part in the sites success with one video on mountain bike crashes notching up 7000 plays.
The BikeRadar.com network delivers content from a global network of cycling journalists and includes content from the Cycling News website.
BikeRadar.com editor Jeff Jones enthused: “Hitting one million unique visitors and 10 million page views in a single month is a big milestone for BikeRadar, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved. We cater for cyclists of all types and offer them a balance of good editorial and user-generated content. Our breadth is our strength and we’re confident that BikeRadar will continue to grow."
Future’s group publisher for sports portfolio Katherine Raderecht said: “Unique users in April for BikeRadar.com have exceeded our expectations and further strengthens Future’s position as the world leader in the cycling media.
“It is a perfect illustration of what we do best; using Future’s knowledgeable journalists and digital technology to produce compelling cycling content for a global audience. These results are a great tribute to the hard work of the editorial and technical teams,” Raderecht added.
