To save cash Muddy Fox has axed its MTB team. Stunts rider Jez Avery is one of the casualities but as hes just signed a £10 000 sponsorship deal with an in-car MP3 player supplier, hes not too upset. He is, however, bikeless...

From Muddy Fox to MP3

Stunts and tricks rider Jez Avery is seeking two bikes for riding at 30-40 public shows this coming year. Jez specialises in wheelies without the front wheel and ramp-to-ramp jumping.

He needs a small framed MTB for his tricks riding and says most £500 bikes can stand up to the punishment he metes out to them. For his ramp jumping he needs a full suspension retailing for about a grand.

Avery can send a videotape of himself in action and has a website listing his tour dates, www.jezavery.cyclists.co.uk.

Most of his stunt shows are at non-cycling events. The £10k sponsorship deal with TraxData, the MP3 company, came about when Avery jumped over one of TraxDatas Smart cars at an event at Earls Court. TraxData also sponsor a horse racing team, a yachting squad and a touring car team.
