Wilier Zero.6 ships with a Montegrappa pen.

Free pen with every bike

Wilier of Italy, founded in 1906, is celebrating a bicycle "110 years in the making". The Zero.6 frame weighs just 680 grams. Only 200 will be made, and each will come with a pen. A special pen, one from Montegrappa.

"It is not difficult to eliminate 100 grams from a standard frame. We have done it many times over the years," said Wilier.

"But if we have to take 100 grams off a frame that weighs less than 800 grams, the going gets tough. We are talking about almost 15 percent of the total weight."

Wilier said it is using a new carbon fibre called "Dialed", produced by Mitsubishi of Japan.

The Zero.6 has a matt black finish, polished decals and copper highlighting that harks back to the colours of the very first Wilier Triestina bikes.

The bike will retail for about €10,000 for a complete bike.
