Round Up USA, the 'small wheel and folder bike fest', is now in its fourth year. To be staged June 9-11th in Philadelphia, Round Up is part bike rally, part trade show, and part folder geek-fest. Cycling writer John Schubert calls it a "Woodstock for cool bikes."

Folder fest is four

"It’s three days to see, touch and ride the biggest new things in biking: compact bikes. The bikes that work and play well with bike-banning buildings, crowded commuter trains and cramped apartments," said Round Up USA organiser Michael McGettigan of Philadelphia cycle store Trophy Bikes.

One of the guest speakers at this year’s Round Up is Michael Lin of Pacific Cycles of Taiwan (not Sting-ray, Mongoose, GT owner Pacific Cycle of the US.)

Pacific Cycles is one of the largest folder bike makers in the world and Lin will be bringing a selection of new bikes – Birdy monocoque. the Reach. the Carry-Me, and others – to demo.

Other bikes available at the show to test include Bike Friday, Brompton, Dahon, Moulton, Giatex, Breezer, Xootr Swift, Mobiky Genius, Bickerton, Strida, and Airnimal.

McGettigan said Round Up was now more relevant than ever "as we face an energy and mobility crisis in the US and abroad."
