In our latest series, we’re getting to grips with the brands that you deal with every day. The ‘Five minutes with’ series will present a company with five short, sharp and to-the-point questions about who they are and what they do. This week we’re joined by CES Sport owner Joe Emms.
Can you tell us the history of the company?
CES Sport was born in 2016 whilst trying to search for my own next upgrade, when I realised there was a lack of options to me with the budget that I was working with.
What are you ultimately trying to achieve?
Ultimately we’re trying to make performance carbon wheels affordable to the average cyclist and triathlete, who don’t necessarily have the big budgets to spend on treats…
What gives you an edge over other brands in the industry?
The fact that we’re a small UK business, I think gives us the edge over some larger global brands. We offer a personal touch to our customers, which I think is vital.
What innovations in the industry are exciting you at the moment?
What specifically excites me about the current UK bicycle industry is the mergence of new UK brands, such as Aspire Cycles and North Road Cycles
What does the future hold for the company?
Onwards and upwards. The first year has been an exciting 1st chapter and we hope to go from strength to strength. We’re currently concentrating on the UK market, but we hope to grow more globally, with the possibility of expanding our product range.
