BBC Radio Five Live has relaunched its message boards - to date, footy and cricket dominated - with a new look and a different mix of discussion topics, including cycling.

Five Live adds cycling to forums

Joining the current 606, Test Match Special and Other Sport message boards there will be a new range of topics including Rugby Union, Rugby League, tennis, golf, motor sport, boxing, athletics, snooker, horse Racing, cycling and disability sport.

These forums are jointly hosted by Five Live and BBC Sport and will replace the email areas on bbc.co.uk/sport

Brett Spencer, Interactive Editor at BBC Radio Five Live said: “These new message boards truly reflect the diversity of Five Live’s output. By co-producing them with BBC Sport we are fully utilising the experience of both teams and providing value for money for the listener.”

The cycling forum apears to be attractiung a rather different clientele compared to Singletrack, Bikemagic or other enthusiast forums. A recent poster said he would have to give up cycling because he couldn’t work out how to mend a puncture and was flummoxed by 20 gears.

When a forum administrator suggested taking the bike to a bike shop or Halfords, another poster complained about the use of the word "H*alfords"…
