Distributor says it will no longer carry any Dahon product or spares beyond December 31st

Fisher: ‘Our obligations for Dahon warranty will cease at end of 2009’

Fisher has released a statement stressing that it will not be handling warranty and service for Dahon beyond December 31st 2009.

The statement contradicts Zyro’s yesterday, saying that Fisher will handle previous seasons’ service and warranty.

Fisher’s statement read: "Fisher Outdoor Leisure would like to clarify an inaccuracy in the recent Zyro announcement regarding Dahon.

"Contrary to the statement that ‘…All previous seasons’ service and warranty issues will continue to be dealt with by Fisher Outdoor Leisure…’ Fisher’s warranty and service obligations for the Dahon brand will formally cease on December 31st 2009."

Fisher CEO Richard Allmark said: “Fisher Outdoor Leisure is very disappointed to hear that Dahon and its new UK distributor Zyro do not intend to honour the manufacturer’s warranty for 2009 models and earlier.

"During our tenure as Dahon’s distributor, Fisher has worked in the best interests of our customers to ensure that Dahon met its warranty obligations. We will do everything we can to help customers through to the end of this year when our relationship with Dahon formally ceases.

"We recommend that from January 1st 2010, customers should in the first instance contact Dahon directly – either their head office or UK agent – for warranty or technical support issues on any model year bike, as Fisher will no longer be carrying any products or spares.”
