“Find a bike shop near me” spikes on Google

Google searches for "bike shop near me’ have risen by 174 percent across the UK. Research by search marketing agency Spike Digital has found that Basildon and Poole saw the largest increase, with searches for local bike shops rising by 400 percent.

There were also rises in big cities, including a 336 percent spike in Manchester, 254.5 percent in Birmingham, 240 percent in Glasgow, and 180 percent in Newcastle.

Anecdotally, bike shops have not reported any huge rise in sales from these searches.
