The Bafta-winning filmmakers behind Bicycle The Film are crowdfunding in order to finance their next project, a one-hour documentary on the history of British mountain biking. £2,645 has been raised to date from 77 individuals, with the goal being £10,000.
"Mountain Biking – The Untold British Story will chart the evolution of off road cycling in the UK from its beginnings in the likes of the Rough Stuff Fellowship right through to current UK world champions in the sport, innovations in technology and contemporary trends such as the fat bike," said Michael Clifford of Blue Hippo Media.
"This is an opportunity for everyone who wants to see the Brit story finally committed to tape, to get involved," promised Blue Hippo’s Pip Piper.
"Now is the time to tell the story, a point where a rich and fascinating history has developed over thirty years or more and the heroes are still around to tell the tale."
Singletrack magazine and Orange Bikes are lead sponsors of the project.
The film’s premiere will take place in June 2016 at the close of the Design Museum ‘Cycle Revolution’ exhibition.
"We want to make an incredible and memorable film," said Piper.
