Communications agency Shift Active Media has appointed Stephen Farrand as editorial director

Farrand joins Shift

Stephen Farrand joins Shift Active Media from Cyclingnews.com, where he was a member of the editorial and production team.

Before joining Cyclingnews, Farrand was based in Italy, where he worked as a freelance journalist with Bicycling AOL, Cycling Weekly, Cycle Sport and the Reuters news agency. He has reported on numerous editions of the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and other major races around the world. He is a fluent Italian speaker and raced locally in Italy for several years before becoming a journalist.

Shift Active Media is a cycling-specific PR and communications agency, founded in 2010 by Simon Wear, former chief operating officer for Future Publishing.

Shift works for brands such as Colnago, Fi’zi:k, Rapha, FSA, Orange and Santini. Shift also handles the international marketing strategy for online retailer Wiggle.
