BikeBiz speaks to Nick Larsen about the implications for simple piece of design

Fabric hints at further uses for ‘plug’ system

by now you’ll no doubt have spotted Fabric’s fresh take on how to attach a bottle to a bike, but the brand has hinted the application could extend to other uses – think pumps and tool kits – to begin with.

When asked by BikeBiz where else the plug design could feature, Nick Larsen the man behind Charge and Fabric, said: "The rear on our new Tri saddle. The bottle does not have to be round, so Aero may be on the cards."

Now patent pending, the simple piece of design has been well-recieved online thus far, though many aren’t convinced it’ll hold a filled bottle on rough terrain.

Larsen said of this: "They have been on MTB’s at trail centres and in Alps since March and on my personal fully rigid MTB since Feb – never once has a bottle fallen out during testing."

Confirmed to be in the works for launch in the near future are larger volume bottles, insulated units from both the inside and out and a new rubber molded grip.
