The Dutch 'retail services' group Euretco Tweewielers had a positive 2002, and so did its 293 IBD members in the Netherlands. The organisation is now actively seeking UK members, and has started negotiations with suppliers, many of whom feel its quick, centralised payment terms could be part of a winning formula

Euretco expanded in 2002

Euretco’s turnover rose by 13 pecent to €81m.

And IBD members did better than the industry average too. According to market figures produced by Dutch IBD organisation GFK, Dutch IBDs sold 7 percent less bicycles in 2002 compared with 2001 and the total turnover was 1 percent down year on year. However, Euretco affliaited IBDs had – on average – 1.7 percent higher turnover than in 2001.
