The EU decision not to exclude Giant China Co, a subsidiary of Giant Manufacturing Co. of Taiwan, from the anti-dumping tariff of 48.5 percent applying to bicycle exports from mainland China was appealed by Giant.
Giant China Co had argued it should be granted market economy status and that the prices of its bicycles sold in China were comparable with those that it exported to Europe.
Rejecting the appeal, the EU said all Chinese bike exporters are "subject to significant state control."
