UK firm trials new initiative to help customers understand electric bike cost

E-bike firm unveils ‘try before you buy’

Potential e-bike customers will be able to take advantage of a new ‘try before for you buy’ scheme from Ultra Motor.

Potential purchasers will be able to trial any Ultra Motor branded product from the A2B or Fast4ward range. Trials will last for up to three days and the bikes will arrive at dealers fully built and PDI’d ready for the customer to collect.

Customers will be encouraged to record a video diary of their trial and upload it to YouTube. One will be selected at random in July 2011 to win the bike they tested.

UK MD Mark Loveridge commented: “We all know that an electric bicycle is a big financial commitment and consumers have fears over range, suitability and whether it will get them up a local hill.

This initiative expels those preconceptions and allows them to borrow a bike free of charge to try in their local environment. We have seen this work effectively in other countries we operate in and think it will really help our dealer base in the UK.”
