Manufacturer issues limited recall for 2008 Kingpin models

Dawes issues voluntary recall

Dawes Cycles is conducting a voluntary recall for Radius handle posts fitted to 2008 Kingpin models.

The recall, which affects Kingpin bicycles delivered to dealers after May 2008, follows the discovery of inaccurate machining and inconsistent material quality that can lead to the Radius hinge cracking and breaking,

Radius handle posts fitted to bicycles with specific serial numbers will be affected only. Any Dawes Kingpin with the following purchase orders should be replaced:

PO 2203-08012501
PO 2203-08051907

The firm recommends dealers visit the Dawes website here for full details. Dawes customer services can be contacted on 0121 7488050

Dawes also urged dealers to contact customers that have purchased the Kingpin after May 2008 to check if the product needs replacement.
