Trustees wanted for charity fighting cyclists’ rights.

Cyclists’ Defence Fund seeks expert trustees

The Cyclists’ Defence Fund charity is seeking new and expert trustees, especially those with experience in fundraising; PR, marketing and media; business planning; and criminal law. Trustees are expected to attend four board meetings a year and spend 2-3 hours a month discussing cases over email.

The Cyclists’ Defence Fund is operated by the CTC and is the only charity in the UK which defends cyclists’ rights by supporting legal cases and distributing information about the law relating to cycling. Applications for help with legal cases are on the rise, says the CDF.

In recent years, CDF has helped two cyclists get unfair prosecutions dropped and has provided information to many others about how to challenge overzealous policing and poor council planning decisions. The trustees wish to expand the fund and extend its reach so that more cyclists can be helped.
