The web-based TV channel will broadcast from Haymarket's The Bike Show, to be staged at the NEC, Birmingham, 16 -18th April.

Cycling.TV to web-broadcast Bike Show coverage

The channel is currently delivered on the web with a full screen picture option for WIndows-users, and in the future will be available on TV sets via a direct phone link.

At The Bike Show, Cycling.TV will film 4X MTB racing, BMX racing, dirt jumping, BMX street, vert and flatland events, and The Bike Show Circuit Cup, BritainÂ’s richest road circuit race.

Cycling.tv works like any other TV channel with scheduled programming. Viewers also have an ‘on demand’ highlights section plus pay per view services for certain events. A weekly news, lifestyle and results round up is on the drawing board.

Cycling.tv measures the user’s internet connection speed and delivers content at a frame per second rate appropriate to their speed. At 800 kbs per second the service offers TV-equivalent 25 frames a second MPEG 4 images. For a dial up 56k modem, the rate is five frames a second. Cycling.tv carries advertising streamed into programmes.
