John Steward and Natalie Connell have scooped the top prize in the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneurs of the Year competition, beating off 900 other entrants in the 24-year old competition. Cyclepods are futuristic-looking bike-parking stands costing £3,250 apiece.

The award comes at the same time as a cycle-parking exhibition during Bike Week, ‘Reinventing the Bike Shed’ part of the London Architecture Biennale.

Cyclepods are aluminium storage units that store bikes vertically to save space. They were designed as part of Steward’s final year project as a design student.

The pods store eight bikes each and are produced via Steward and Connell’s Built from Scratch Ltd.
