Cycle Training Wales scoops business awards

Cycle Training Wales has scooped two business awards at the South Wales Business Awards – including Business of the Year 2011.

Running since 2007, the not-for-profit social enterprise promotes cycling and its benefits through education and training, including maintenance courses and on the road cycle tutorials.

The awards, which were held on Friday 16 September, are one of most prestigious events of the Welsh business calendar. Cycle training Wales was also recognised as Social Enterprise of the Year.

The award was received by Jon Howes, Cycle Training Wales’s workshop coordinator. He said: "These awards are testament to the hard work and professionalism of our many mechanics and instructors who are our public face and who ensure the high quality of the services we offer."

As part of the prize scored, Cycle Training Wales won a half-day of marketing advice from WS Marketing and full business review from a University of Glamorgan academic.
