Sprinter Chris Hoy has been named as BBC TV's Scottish Sports Personality of the Year. Earlier this week Nicole Cooke was named as BBC Welsh Sports Personality of the Year. And on Sunday night, Lance Armstrong is expected to get the Overseas Sports Personality of the Year Award in the 50th annual running of the BBC's public poll. UPDATE: Lance did win!

Hoy is the current Scottish and Commonwealth 1km record holder. He won two gold medals in the World Cup in Cape Town, and a bronze medal in the team sprint 1km time-trial in Stuttgart.
