Firm opens second premises in Bradford after only 17 months

Cycle re Cycle opens second workshop

Cycle re Cycle has opened a second bicycle recycling workshop in Bradford.

The workshop opening follows success far in excess of the firm’s expectations after opening its first premises in Halifax 17 months ago.

Cycle re Cycle reuses unwanted bikes and provides a facility for cyclists to repair and maintain their own rides using the firm’s tools, equipment and workstation.

The new Bradford-based site will be staffed by six volunteers, two of which build and true wheels – a common fault in the bikes given to the organisation.

A spokesperson for the firm said: “Whilst it seems like years since we opened our bicycle recycling project Cycle re Cycle in Halifax the reality is that it is only 17 months.

"The success of our recycling unwanted bikes has been beyond our wildest dreams and we have now built on this success by opening a second bicycle recycling workshop in the Resource Centre, Bradford.

“We would like to thank Bal and Mike and their Management Committee of the Resource Centre for supporting our work and turning a blind eye to the upheaval whilst we fitted out and set up the workshop.”
