"Are you frustrated that your voice is not being heard on the big issues that affect cycling today? Would you like to help shape the future of cycling in the UK?" That's the CTC's pitch. Oh, and "Will you stand up for cycling?".

CTC seeks candidates for election to its national council

The CTC’s national council makes policy on behalf of CTCÂ’s 70 000 members and affiliates. Seats in the East Midlands, North West and South East are to be contested during elections this October.

No formal qualifications are required, but candidates must join CTC if they are not members already and be prepared to hold the post for three years.

Brian Morris, chair of the council, said:

“We are keen to attract a diverse range of candidates that will accurately reflect and represent our membership. In particular, we would like to hear from women, young people and mountain bike enthusiasts, as all these groups are currently under-represented on council.”
