CTC says Tories must turn words into action

But the CTC also urged the Conservative Party to adopt traffic law enforcement as a core policing priority, pledge to reduce speed limits in residential areas and drop VAT from cycle sales.

The CTC applauded the plan to impound cars and fine drivers parking in cycle lanes.

Campaigns Manager Stuart Reid said: "[The Tories] announcement, which has put cycling back on the political map, is welcome. If elected the Conservatives must ensure that their proposals are turned into decisive action.
