Damian Watson completes 3,500km charity ride

Crohn’s Crusaders ride the Tour de France

Australian Damian Watson has finished his charity ride along the route of the Tour De France.

Watson set off from Monaco on June 4th and rode through France, Spain, Andorra, Italy and Switzerland to raise cash and awareness to tackle Crohn’s Disease.

Diagnosed with the disease six years ago, Watson aimed to raise $100,000 for research into finding a cure for the chronic inflammatory bowel disease.

Shorty after the ride was completed Watson said: “I feel great! I feel like I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Straight after we finished, though, it was just astonishing relief that it was all over.”

“I want to see a cure for Crohn’s Disease in my lifetime and if this helps me realise that goal, then that’s the most important thing I could have hoped to achieve.”
