Conti’s Indian partner raises tyre prices due to rubber price rise

Metro’s sales grew 15 percent in 2003-04 but the company’s bottomline was severely affected due to the rise in prices of natural rubber in the last few months, reports Indian newsite, Sify.com

"Like other tyre makers, we have also been hit by the rise in natural rubber prices. Though we have raised the prices of bicycle tyres, for two-wheelers we are adopting a wait-and-watch policy," said Metro Tyres’ MD Rummy Chhabra.
